Dr. Blanc graduated from the University Waterloo School of Optometry in 2001. She dedicates a large portion of her practice to assessing and treating patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries. She is a Fellow and Board Member of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association.
Dr. Blanc has worked with athletes at all levels of various sports. She has spoken for organizations including: Brain Injury Canada, Sports Physiotherapists of Canada, International Sports Vision Association, and Professional Hockey Athletic Trainer’s Association. She has published articles on the topic of vision and concussion, and has collaborated with the University of Toronto Sports Medicine department.
Dr. Laurie Capogna is the founder of Eye Wellness and a leader in the field of ocular nutrition and health. Her passion for whole health, food and nutrition drove her to co-author the best-selling Eyefoods series of books. Her latest book, Eyefoods: The Complete Eye Health and Nutrition Guide is a culmination of ocular nutrition information and includes over 100 recipes. In addition to writing numerous articles on the topic of nutrition and eye health, Dr. Capogna speaks frequently about these topics to fellow doctors and the public.
Her mission is to inspire and educate eye care professionals and the public about the power of ocular nutrition and prevention.
Dr. Koetting is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology in Denver, CO. Her primary focus is in anterior segment and ocular surface disease, neuro-optometry, and peri-operative care. She partakes in clinical research and has served Externship Director and adjunct faculty for several schools and colleges of optometry.
Dr. Koetting is a member of Intrepid, a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, an active member of AOA and has served as both local and state officers within AOA. She was named Young Optometrist of the Year by the state of Virginia. Dr. Koetting lectures locally, nationally and internationally at conferences, continually contributes articles to and serves on editorial board for multiple publications.
Dr. Lonsberry grew up in Rossburn, Manitoba (Canada). He obtained his Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 1996 after completing a Master of Science in Physiology from the University of Manitoba. He completed his residency in Primary Care Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1997, then joined the faculty at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During his time at SCO, he completed a Masters in Education degree with an emphasis in adult learning.
Currently, Dr. Lonsberry is a Full Professor with Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon where his primary teaching responsibilities are supervising interns and overseeing a specialty "lumps and bumps" clinic. In his spare time, he goes to Anchorage, Alaska where he sees patients in a private practice.
Dr. Lonsberry is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, the Optometric Retinal Society, and the Optometric Glaucoma Society.
Dr. Sheila Morrison is a Canadian private practice clinician and educator. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry and Masters Degree in Vision Science, along with a Residency in Cornea and Contact Lens from Pacific University College of Optometry. After serving on faculty at the University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr. Morrison joined Mission Eye Care Center for Dry Eye and Corneal Disease, where she is a supervisor for Mission Eye Care’s Cornea and Contact Lens Residency Program (affiliated with NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry). She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, the Scleral Lens Education Society and the Canadian College of Specialties in Optometry. She is also an awarded member of the International Society of Contact Lens Specialists, and a trustee for the Canadian Optometric Education Trust Fund (COETF). She collaborates with a variety of industry and academic partners including the University of Waterloo.
Shalu Pal, OD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA, FIAOMC founded The Yorkville Eye Institute in Toronto. Dr. Pal is a Myopia in Practice (MIP) researcher, and co-founder of the Canadian Contact Lens Academy and STAPLE program which runs workshops around the world. Dr. Pal’s work in the areas of specialty lenses, myopia management, dry eye treatments, ocular aesthetics, communication and practice management continues to be published.
Dr. Pal has been honored with the CLCS Achievement Award for her educational contributions to the industry and awarded the Legends Award by the AOA. Dr. Pal has most recently graduated from the Global Healthcare Executive Education Program at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Jacqueline Theis OD, FAAO, FNAP is a practicing optometrist, clinical researcher, international lecturer and author. She completed her optometry training and residency in binocular vision and neuro-optometry from UC Berkeley and is the founder and previous chief of the UC Berkeley Concussion and Sports Vision Clinic. She currently practices at Virginia Neuro-Optometry, located at the multi-disciplinary Concussion Care Centre of Virginia in Richmond, VA and serves as an assistant professor for the Uniformed Services University, School of Medicine.
