Optometrist for Mobile Optical 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our MOBILE team.
As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing eye care services to seniors. Your expertise in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions will help improve the vision and overall eye health of our patients. Responsibilities:
– Conduct eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any abnormalities or diseases
– Diagnose various eye conditions, such as refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
– Prescribe a prescription for corrective lenses based on individual patient needs
– Provide MOBILE care for patients purchasing glasses from Wandering Eyes.
– Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
– Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to ensure coordinated patient care (Sending out Referrals)
– Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using provided medical documents and prescription pad.
Requirements:
– Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
– Valid Ontario Province license to practice optometry
– Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry
– Experience in working with Senior patient population.
– Proficiency in conducting MOBILE eye examinations and diagnosing various eye conditions
– Familiarity with optical equipment and tools used in diagnosing and treating eye conditions (MOBILE equipment will be provided to an extent) Can bring own tools as well.
– Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals
– Willing to travel to different Retirement/nursing homes from Welland to Toronto to preform eye exams. (Gas money reimbursement can be negotiated)
Looking to start with one day a week (MONDAYS)
Pre-scheduled, pre-OHIP approved and or pre-paid eye exams at a Retirement/Nursing Home, with Wandering Eyes Selling Eyewear.
