We are seeking a dedicated and vibrant Optometrist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various visual disorders. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including children and seniors. Our clinic is fully equipped with a wide range of diagnostic equipment, including AR/NCT, OCT and retinal photography, corneal pachymetry, corneal topography, meibography, axial length, and visual fields. The Optometrist will also play a key role in educating patients about myopia management and and dry eye disease as we specialize in these areas.
Duties
Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye conditions.
Provide appropriate treatment plans for patients, including prescribing corrective lenses and medications.
Collaborate with optical staff to ensure proper fitting of eyewear and contact lenses.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems
Educate patients on eye health, preventive measures, and the importance of regular check-ups.
Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and medical terminology relevant to patient care.
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid optometry license to practice in Ontario
Experience in myopia control (including ortho k lenses) and dry eye
Strong understanding of optical products and services.
Proficiency in using electronic health record systems; familiarity with OptoSys is ideal
Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and care.
Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
