We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a strong background in optical services. This role involves providing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses. The Optometrist will work closely with patients of all ages, including pediatrics and senior care, ensuring they receive the highest quality of eye care.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
Diagnose and manage various ocular conditions, including but not limited to glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
Prescribe corrective lenses and provide appropriate recommendations for eyewear.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
Collaborate with optical staff to ensure seamless patient experiences from examination to eyewear selection.
Engage in sales of optical products while providing exceptional customer service.
Stay updated on advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and valid state license to practice optometry in Ontario, Canada
Proficient in medical terminology related to optometry and patient care.
Experience working with diverse populations, including pediatrics and senior care, is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient satisfaction and care.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
