Abaus Eye Care has state of the art diagnostic technology including one of the most advanced OCTs – the REVO 130. Right alongside that, the clinic is proud to have the Optomap wide-field retinal scan with auto-fluorescence, and the Medmont corneal topographer.

Our vision care team, including our professional eyewear partner, iPurle, have been serving Scarborough for over 4 years. Together we create an inviting and relaxing atmosphere and go the extra mile to give excellent customer service long after patients step out of the clinic door.

Our practice demographic consists of geriatric patients as well as young families. We have a strong referral network of physicians who help form our patients’ circle of care. Through word of mouth, more people are also seeking us out for Myopia Care.

< About the optometrist position >

As a new Team Member, you will have many opportunities to build your patient base as an intrapreneur, being able to try out different outreach ideas and receive support from us. In addition to putting all your heart into patient care, you are invited to be a part of a bigger movement to end the Myopia Epidemic! In alignment with our Mission Statement, we are looking for a Team Doctor who is personable, enthusiastic and creative. Your regular duties will include:

• Deliver comprehensive eye exams with great patient communication and education
  • Utilize clinic technology to deliver the best possible care and practice to the extent you were trained
  • Be comfortable fitting Ortho-k and specialty contact lenses along with managing other anterior segment conditions
  • Manage pre and post operative care for LASIK, PRK and refractive surgery patients
  • Diagnose, treat, and monitor common conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts
  • When necessary, properly refer patients to appropriate ophthalmologists, and coordinate any necessary follow-up care
  • Be comfortable managing or triaging emergencies during office hours
  • Participate in meetings to help set goals and review practice performance
  • Support our general marketing initiatives with creative ideas for social media and community involvement

• New graduates welcome!
  • An intrapreneurial spirit and motivation to contribute to practice growth as we are looking for candidates who want to grow together
  • Willingness to participate in community initiatives and outreach events
  • Ability to speak Cantonese, Mandarin or willingness to learn is a bonus
  • A love for geriatrics and pediatrics at the same time, both need patience
