There is one class of Membership in the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO).
Annual Membership Dues

All Members who are optometrists, and hold a certificate of registration to carry on the practice of optometry in Ontario, shall pay full OAO Dues and CAO Dues and Advertising Levy, except when one of the following conditions apply:
You are in first year after graduation from optometry school:
Pay 10% of each OAO and CAO dues and PMCA.

You are in the second year after graduation from optometry school, or you are a member whose combined age and years in practice, is equal to 120 years:
Pay 25% of each OAO and CAO dues and PMCA.

You are in the third year after graduation from optometry school, or you are on pregnancy or parental leave, per birth or adoption, for one membership year, or you are a member whose combined age and years in practice is equal to 115 years:
Pay 50% of each OAO and CAO dues and PMCA.

You are in the fourth year after graduation from optometry school, or you are relocating to Ontario from another jurisdiction for the first year, or you are practicing part time and report less than 900 hours annually:
Pay 75% of each OAO and CAO dues and PMCA.

You are a full time faculty at a school of optometry in Ontario, or you are engaged in full time vision related research at a not-for-profit health institution:
Pay 50% of each OAO and CAO dues.

You no longer hold a certificate of registration to continue practicing in Ontario because of retirement, and have been a member five consecutive years prior to retirement:
Pay 10% of OAO dues.

Your combined age and years in practice is equal to, or more than 125 years:
Pay no annual Membership Dues or Advertising Levy.
As an OAO Member, you are also a Member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO).
